This cable is designed to serve two specialized purposes:
1. Drive very low (83.5 decibels or less) sensitivity headphones using speaker outputs of amplifiers less than 100 WPC
2. Drive very low (83.5 decibels or less) sensitive headphones with speaker outputs of amplifiers with no headphone output that are less than 100 WPC
The cable consists of taking two speaker (50025) cables wired to bananas at one end and at the other end a 4 pin XLR female.
Bananas are connected at the amplifier end and the 4 pin XLR female accepts a 4 pin XLR male headphone cable. Then you simply turn on your favourite recording and listen away.
Very important to use low sensitivity headphones with amplifiers lower than 100 WPC. Use of standard efficient headphones could result in the blowing out of your headphones or excessive noise floor.
